More Brunch In Midtown Village

Tredici Enoteca announces a new brunch service, just in time for brunching season.

I reviewed Tredici a couple weeks back and loved the hell out of it. The energy, the light, the food–all of it came together into a place that was better than the sum of its parts. But I do remember thinking that there were a couple things that could be done to improve the experience.

1) Free cocktails for food writers

2) Brunch

Well, one of those things has just been added to the program.

Beginning Saturday, April 2, the not-quite-Italian restaurant across the street from Zavino will be doing Saturday and Sunday brunch service from 11am ’til 2pm. They’ll still be offering the same menu that they’ve been doing all along, but now it will be available beginning at 2pm on the weekends, and there’ll be a special brunch menu just for people (like me) who think that having some eggs with their cocktails makes day-drinking more of a classy thing and less of a let’s-get-some-friends-together-for-an-intervention thing.

Yes, some of the greatest hits of the dinner menu (like the bacon-wrapped dates and broccoli with avocado) will carry over, but there will also be apple-ricotta pancakes with Nutella, cardamom sausage with eggs, long hots and toast, a frittata (because it’s just not brunch without a frittata somewhere on the menu), and avocado toast with poached egg.

If there was ever a better excuse to start drinking champagne before noon, I can’t recall it.
