Can’t keep up with the swift pace of change in the region’s beer drinking scene? Neither can we. But here are some of the latest beers and biggest news that we’ve caught.

Want to win a case of Neshaminy Creek’s Shape of Hops to Come, the brewery is running a contest on Social Media between now and September 10th.

Tröegs has rolled out a new Kolsch, When in Doubt. The 4.2% alcohol by volume beer is available in both bottles and on draft. Tröegs has also rolled out a fall seasonal, Hop Knife Harvest Ale.

It’s almost the end of Cape of Good Hope season at Yards. But as we say goodbye to that beer, we can say hi to Yards Cicada, a Belgian-style IPA that’s officially debuting on September 1st.

Conshohocken Brewing has nice sounding fruity double IPA on tap. Island in the Sun Double IPA is described as juicy and smooth.

Victory dropped another beer on us. While the hot weather lasts, seek out Victory Cage Radler. The beer is described as “light, dry, and extremely drinkable, this clean and crisp lager is perfectly balanced with the flavors and aromas of fresh lemon.” The beer is a lightweight 2.7% ABV.

While Victory is acknowledging the current weather, many brewers have already been shipping pumpkin beers. And locally that means Philadelphia Brewing’s Kenz O’ Lantern Pumpkin Ale is on store shelves. Weyerbacher’s Imperial Pumpkin has also been getting out to local bars and beer stores. Keep an eye for that as well.

Pottstown’s’ Sly Fox eskews pumpkin mania for its fall seasonal, Sly Fox Oktoberfest is in cans now.

Sad news from Village Idiot Brewing Company, brewer and co-founder Rich Palmay passed away suddenly last week. Palmay was 56.

Speaking of fruity beers, Where the Beer and the Cantaloupe Play is a beer brewed by 2nd Story Brewing with Hull Melon Hops that promises to be full of melon and cantaloupe flavor.

On Saturday, September 12th, Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing Co. in Cherry Hill, NJ is hosting its first bottle sale. Only 325 bottles of Twisted Mister will be on sale. The beer, a collaboration with Florida’s Saltwater Brewing, is an IPA brewed with key lime zest and aged in Manatawny gin barrels.
