More Boat News: Clambakes and Tall Ships on Sunday June 28th

Here’s a reason to drag yourself out of the house on a Sunday: whether you’re feeling nautical or just really like seafood, join the Garces Group in celebrating the Tall Ships returning to Philadelphia.

If, like me, you had no idea that more than a dozen international and domestic Tall Ships will sail into Philadelphia at the end of the month, a clambake brunch at The Olde Bar might be a fun way to pre-game your day on the Waterfront. Some of the ships will be open to tour and explore, and others will even take visitors out to sail. It’s all very cool, if you’re of a seafaring temper. But everyone loves brunch, and this one will be held Sunday, June 28th (the final day of the Tall Ships festival) from 12 PM – 3 PM.

Unfamiliar with the Tall Ships? Go here.

Unfamiliar with clambake fare? The New England style bake will feature items like:

Cherry Stone Clams, Cape Cod Mussels, Grilled Shrimp & Corn in a White Wine Butter Sauce

Red Bliss Potato Salad with Whole Grain Mustard & Fresh Herbs

Grilled Wheels of Jersey Corn

Pasta Salad with Grilled Vegetables in a Tarragon Dressing

Saffron Paella with Sofrito & Scallion

House Made Parker House Rolls

Fountain Soda, Ice Tea & Coffee

Tickets to the bake are $40 a person, and include tax & gratuity. If you like your brunches boozy, feel free to add an open bar to your ticket for $20 per person. The bar will include Naragansett Lager, Philadelphia Fish House Punch, and house red & white wine. And when you’re done with all that, then you can go check out the Tall Ships (and the giant rubber ducky that’ll be coming with them).

Tickets are on sale now here.
