EATS Philly: A Huge Street Food Festival Coming May 5

Skip the Cinco De Mayo celebrations for all-you-can-eat food trucks.

Food Truck Series at The Oval

We’re in that beautiful stretch of time where it’s warm enough to stroll around outside, but not a brutal 95 degrees with humidity that makes your hair look like you were recently electrocuted. And while short, this is certainly a time to cherish.

So what better way to celebrate than with a huge street festival?

On May 5, the Food Trust is hosting EATS Philly, an outdoor-and-indoor street food festival with cook-offs between local chefs. The indoor competition will be held inside the World Cafe Live (3025 Walnut Street).

For $85, you can enjoy the outside food truck festival with all-you-can-eat food from Nomad Pizza, Samosa Deb, Surf and Turf Truck, Sweetbox Cupcakes, Zsa’s Ice Cream and Farm Truck. You also get unlimited beer and wine from Frecon Farms, Pennswoods Winery and Penn Distributors Beer. After you eat and drink yourself into a stupor, you can head inside to watch the chefs compete in a cook-off.

For $150, you get all of those benefits, plus an all-access pass that gets you front and center at the competition, and the ability to taste each dish from the ten Philadelphia chefs.

You can purchase your tickets here. We’ve also got a full list of the competing chefs:

Chad Rosenthal, The Lucky Well
Chip Roman, Blackfish
Erin O’Shea, Percy Street BBQ
Josh Lawler, The Farm and Fisherman
Marcie Turney, Bud & Marilyn’s
Peter Woolsey, Bistrot La Minette
Scott Schroeder, South Philly Tap Room
Sylva Senat, Ippin Mono Kitchen
Tod Wentz, Townsend
Tony Clark, Valley Forge Casino
