Frecon’s Cidery will offer a tasting of the Apfelwein Still Off Dry Cider.

Frecon Farms, a pick-your-own orchard and local produce market located in Boyertown, is rolling out their new, savory winter bakery items with a free open house and tasting on Saturday, January 31 from 10am to 4pm. The event will feature cider samples from Frecon’s cidery, as well as a cheese tasting from Valley Milkhouse Creamery, but the real draw is the spread of samples that they’re laying out.

The hearty winter menu boasts three different kinds of pot pies (steak & cider, traditional chicken, and cider braised pork & apple), four quiche options (tomato bacon cheddar,  garden veggie, tomato onion, and ham & swiss), four soups (chicken noodle, squash apple, roasted red pepper tomato, and beef stew), five side dishes (kale veggie quinoa salad, broccoli cheddar salad, baked mac & cheese, baked sweet potatoes, and butternut squash), and nine varieties of bread (baguette, french bread, asiago foccaccia, rustic white, rosemary olive oil, multigrain, salted rye, sourdough, and cheddar beer bread). And again, did we mention that it’s all free?

Guests are invited to sample as many of the menu items as they would like, and while RSVP-ing to the event is not necessary, anyone who “joins” the event on Facebook is automatically entered to win a $25 gift card to Frecon Farms.
