For those of you already looking in the direction of the Shore, we’ve got a few new things happening in and around Atlantic City.
First, Jose Garces opened Yuboka, a dim sum and noodle shop, inside Revel at the end of May. It’s 36 seats, right next to his A.C. version of Amada, and situated right off the casino floor–custom-made for a quick-hit flight of small plates or bowl of noodles without taking you too far away from the slots. Also, he’ll be rolling out the semi-newly-christened Distrito Cantina Food Truck (formerly Guapos Tacos) on the boardwalk on Saturday and Sunday from noon ’til 6pm. That’ll be the schedule from now until Labor Day.
Meanwhile, if you’re really craving even more noodles, Ono at the Atlantic Club Casino will be debuting its own new noodle bar (called Noodle Bar, natch) tonight. It’s the same kind of set-up as Yuboka–32 seats, in this case, open from 5pm ’til midnight, and offering quick bites of congee, fish balls, dumplings and, of course, noodles. Prices top out around $12, and Noodle Bar will live right inside Ono to take advantage of both the views and the kitchen.
Finally, if you can wait until next weekend, the Atlantic City Bottle Company will be opening to the public on Friday, August 9. Whiskey, wine, imports, microbrews and a “seasonal and ever-changing small plates menu” from chef Kevin Cronin are the draw here, and they’re running the joint like a combination bar/restaurant and bottle shop so you can come in, have a drink, have a snack and then pick up a bottle (or four) to take with you when you go.
