“The Truck Food Cookbook” Author Comes to Philly

John T. Edge, two-time James Beard Award winner, has written a new book that features Philadelphia’s food truck scene prominently among those of other U.S. cities. The Truck Food Cookbook: 150 Recipes and Ramblings from America’s Best Restaurants on Wheels shares dishes from the creative chefs Edge met in his exploration of the nation’s growing food truck trend.

Edge, who recently won the MFK Fisher Distinguished Writing Award from the James Beard Foundation, presents recipes from local food trucks throughout The Truck Food Cookbook. Philly trucks featured include La Dominique Creperie with a recipe for their Lemon Crepes and Ton-Ton Japanese Food Cart with a how-to for their Tuna Onigiri. Recipes from John’s Lunch Truck, MikeyD’s Grill, A&M, and Yue Kee are also featured, as is a shout-out to Cupcake Truck.

Author John T. Edge will be in town this Wednesday June 6th for an event at Yards Brewing Company where he will talk about the book and the Philly street food scene. The event will take place at 6:30pm and is hosted in conjunction with the Philly Mobile Food Association. Local favorite Lil Dan’s food truck will be there in addition to other food and drink specials.
