Weekend: Chocolate Stouts and New Orleans Breakfasts

Friday

Today at 4 p.m. Molly Malloy’s in the Reading Terminal Market will be tapping Engine 1892 Market Stout, the Philadelphia Brewing Co. chocolate beer brewed to commemorate the Market’s 120th anniversary.

In other chocolate stout debut news, Iron Hill Chestnut Hill is debuting its Oompa Loompa Stout. From 5 to 8 p.m. there will be complimentary chocolate truffles.

Upstairs at DiBruno Bros. on Chestnut Street is hosting a cheese class this evening inspired by St. Valentine’s Day and pairing cheese with Champagne. The $20 per person class will be led by Richard-Luis Morillo, DiBruno Rittenhouse’s Cheese Specialist who will guide you through each cheese; describing it and explaining how each one is complimented by the Champagne. Reservations can be made only by phone at 215-665-1659.

Saturday

Nodding Head is hosting its Second Saturday get together. This month it is a Phunkabration, featuring super rare sour beers from 3 to 6 p.m. The Tums are complimentary.

Sunday

We’re thinking New Orleans. Perhaps beignets from Beck’s or a whole New Orleans brunch from the Khyber Pass Pub.
