Happy Repeal Day

Today marks 78th anniversary of the repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment prohibiting the sale, consumption, manufacture, import/export of intoxicating liquors in the United States.

As you might imagine several Philadelphia bars are using the occasion for some special events.

Memphis Taproom – From 3 to 4 p.m. all draft beers are just $2. The from 4 to 6 p.m., the Taproom’s regular happy hour, all drafts are still only $4.

Farmers’ Cabinet – After 5 p.m. favorite prohibition era gin and rye whiskey cocktails like the Fancy Gin Dailsy and 50/50 martini will be available at a discount. House-made beer will also be just $4 a glass.

Franklin Mortgage – Former Franklin bartender Nicholas Jarrett for a night of Dealer’s Choice. Revelers will check up to three boxes on the card shown below. Jarrett promises that all the concoctions will be “intoxicating, delicious, and legal (probably).”
