Greatest Hits and What You Missed: Where Ya Gonna Eat (and Drink), Holiday Edition

A couple weeks back, I co-opted the Greatest Hits space with what was essentially a list of all the new places that had opened and reasons why you should go and eat there immediately. Well, what with the short week this week, the impending holiday and the fact that Philly’s restaurateurs are still opening at a totally insane and break-neck pace, I’ve decided to do the same thing again this week. Sure, we’ve got some other fun stuff for you to read when you need a moment away from your family. But in case a more substantial getaway is required, we’ve got a whole bunch of places for you to eat, drink and ditch them entirely.

American Sardine Bar Is Open It actually opened a couple days ago, but the owners swore we were all imagining it
Eat This Now: Birra Forget the freaky pizza and order the shrimp
Punk Rock Cocktails at The Franklin No better way to spend your Sunday
For the Herbivores: Vedge Open and blowing minds on Locust Street
And How ‘Bout Tapestry, Route 6 and Stateside, too? All open, all serving, all just waiting for you this weekend
Thanksgiving Tips from Philly’s Top Chefs (and Bartenders) How not to fuck up your Thanksgiving, straight from the pros
In Search Of Potato Skins They really ought to be a thing…
The Return of the Tiki Bar? Not yet, but we’re hoping

For those of you looking for places up and running either tonight, on Thanksgiving night or the day after, we’re here to help. You can find awesome pre- and post-Turkey events all over town courtesy of Flyer Flow (which, if you haven’t checked it out yet, is super cool). And we’ll be keeping you updated on all the places to go for eats and drinks on the Twitter. Just follow Foobooz (like you don’t already…) and keep an eye out for the #OpeninPHL hashtag.

That’s it, folks. Happy Turkey Day to one and all, and we’ll see you all back here bright and early on Monday morning.
