A Couple of Cool Collaboration Beers

Sam Adams and Dogfish Head are collaborating on a special beer that will only be poured at the sold out Savor event in Washington D.C. The special one-off was brewed with with rosewater, lavender, hibiscus, jasmine, rosebuds and hops. We’d like to believe a keg could make its way to Philly Beer Week but that’s just wishful thinking. For a collaboration you have some shot at getting keep an eye out for the Cherry Chocolate Stout by Tröegs, Stone Brewing and homebrewers Jason Fields and Kevin Sheppard. Fields and Sheppard won a home-brew competition sponsored by Stone and got to “big batch” the recipe. With Troegs experience with cherries, as highlighted in their Mad Elf seasonal and their forthcoming move to Chocolate Town USA, (Troegs is opening a brewery in Hershey this fall), the brewers were natural collaborators on the beer brewed with chocolate, cherries and vanilla beans. In other Troegs news the brewery will be featured in a beer dinner at Barbuzzo on Wednesday, June 8th. Dinner will consist of five courses and five beers including Mad Elf for $55.
