The owners of Rascal’s BBQ & Crab House in New Castle said they were “ashamed” of how their restaurant was portrayed in the forthcoming Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible. Airing on February 2nd, the show which features a similar premise to Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares filmed at the 45-year old Delaware restaurant last October and November. The owners told Delaware Online’s Second Helpings blog that workers for the show “sprinkled caraway seeds on the floor to look like mouse droppings and that another employee heated and exploded coffee in a microwave and left the oven dirty.” [Second Helpings]

In the next few weeks Toast Tavern will open, replacing Crawdaddy’s in West Chester. The Tavern will feature a menu of international dishes served on toasted breads from that part of the world. [WC Dish]
