Beer Garden to Get Overhaul

One of our longtime pet ideas has been taking over the Beer Garden in the Reading Terminal Market and making it a showcase for local beer. We even have a partially completed business plan and a name, the Reading Local. We would serve local craft staples and exciting one-offs. There would be casks and pairing notes. We would welcome visitors to sit down and pair a cheesesteak with a Porter or a soft pretzel and a Pilsner. And we would of course have special events capitalizing on the treasures of the Market.

Well it seems like our reality is a bit more of a possibility as Michael Klein reports the vegetable guys, Vinnie and Jimmy Iovine have bought the Beer Garden and plan to renovate the spot and open it as a gastropub called Molly Maguire’s.

We’re not sure about the name but guys, drop us a line, we’ve got lots of ideas.
