Tale of the Tape: SugarHouse Casino

Philadelphia’s first casino, the SugarHouse Casino opens on the Delaware Riverfront in Fishtown on September 23rd at 1:30pm. Two million visitors are expected to visit annually. 1,600 slot machines and 40 live table games will span the gaming floor. The casino will feature a full-service restaurant, sports bar and 24-hour grab-and-go eatery.

    • Wells Meats from literally across Delaware Avenue
    • Le Bus Brioche for burgers and sandwiches
    • Amoroso bread for steak sandwiches
    • Dietz and Watson cold cuts
  • Initial ordering projections:
    • 8,000 lbs of meat per week
    • 3,000 burgers per day
  • 257 fulltime employees in food and beverages division

The Refinery

  • 365 seats including the outdoor patio and bar area
  • Patio overlooks the Delaware River and Ben Franklin Bridge
  • Windows can retract to give open air feel to restaurant
  • Live entertainment offered 4 nights a week
  • Bar has seats for approximately 24, a video poker terminal at each
  • 6 large HDTVs hang over the bar area
  • The poker machines have small LCD TVs built into them.
  • Menu ranges from $5 to $12

    • Fishtown Stacker – Hand breaded cod fingers stacked on a toasted Le Bus brioche
    • Build your own burger or chicken sandwich
    • Ham or turkey on a pretzel

    • Retro Floats – Bassets vanilla ice cream served with Stewart’s sodas

Lucky Red

  • Sports Bar

  • LCD “Cube” creates the large backdrop to the bar
  • The “Cube” can feature 12 different games at once
