Mmmmm … Pennsylvania Dutch Doughnuts

The 21st annual celebration of traditional treats at Reading Terminal Market is happening now

The Pennsylvania Dutch—purveyors of delicious eats like fudge and donuts and pretzels and apple butter—are celebrating their traditional culture this week at Reading Terminal Market. The 21st Annual Pennsylvania Dutch Festival (Thursday, August 12 through Saturday, August 14, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) will highlight all things Amish, from crafts to sausage sandwiches. Vendors will dish up traditional foods like fudge, nut brittles, homemade doughnuts, homemade ice cream, hot ham sandwiches, and funnel cakes in the Center Court of the Market. On Saturday, the antiquated festival will go country fair style outside on Arch Street, with Amish buggy rides around the Market and a farm animal petting zoo.
