Post-Beer Week Beer Dinners

Food and brews are reunited again at Chifa and Devil's Den

It’s been about a month since Philly Beer Week — plenty of time to recover from that hangover, at least according to Chifa and Devil’s Den. Both are offering belated beer pairing dinners to keep your craft cravings sated.

On Thursday, July 22, Jose Garces’ Peruvian/Cantonese tapas spot will pair up with Brewer Brian O’Reilly of Sly Fox for a four-course, four-beer, $65 dinner. The Chifa/Sly Fox Menu will include Summer Curry Prawns paired with Saison VOS (a Belgian-style farmhouse ale), and Braised Short Ribs with Peruvian succotash and 113 IPA. Reservations are recommended; call 215-925-5555.

In addition, South Philly gastropub Devil’s Den recently debuted a new chef’s tasting menu, available with and without beer pairings (but why go without?). The food and drink pairings will change, but one iteration included seared scallops with wilted green leaf lettuce and roasted shitakes, paired with light, citrusy brew Dogfish Head Festina Peche. The menu is available daily and costs $30 for three courses ($25 sans beer) and $42 for four courses ($35 sans beer).
