Get Your Fill On Growlers

Today the New York Times did a feature on growlers, “the new old way to tote your beer.” The Times discovered that all sorts of people, even new mothers and beer geek dads love the portability as much as “mullet-heads and beer-bellied dudes.”

Here are some Philadelphia area brew-pubs and bars that fill growlers. We’ll do our best to keep this post up to date as prices and availability are subject to change.

Being that it is Pennsylvania, there are restrictions to purchasing growlers in the Commonwealth:

  • You cannot purchase more than the maximum PA take-out ounces (192 ounces), 3 growlers
  • Most breweries are hesitant fill brought in growlers due to PLCB/Federal labeling regulations
