Just Eat It: Menu Highlights From the New Du Jour
BY ASHLEY PRIMIS
The Commerce Square Du Jour quietly opened its doors this week, and Market Street workers are all cheering that we now have a viable option for takeout salads nearby. (OK, at least this Market Street worker is.) And while Marty Grims has been quite busy — he shut down the Du Jour in the Symphony House a few months ago and reconfigured it to be Asian eatery Chew Man Chu — he and his team were able to bring in some new menu items to this second location.
Besides the expected salads, burgers, flatbreads, and sandwiches (though the grilled cheese with blue, cheddar, pepper jack, bacon, and tomato on multigrain deserves some props), two new menu categories are worth investigating:
Tacos, which come with black beans, sour cream, and cilantro, and are priced in the $9 to $10 range:
- Grilled mahi mahi with a spicy slaw
Al pastor has braised pork, with pineapple
Traditional beef comes with guac
Chicken verde has pulled chicken and green sauce
Hot dogs, served with housemade chips and priced from $7.95:
- The Philly-style comes with wiz, steak, spicy ketchup, and crispy onions
Chicago comes with jalapeño mustard, neon relish, onions, and celery salt
Mexican brings the heat with jalapeños, tortilla chips, and guac
The Italian Dog has sausage, spinach, roasted peppers and provolone
There’s no phone number yet, but the address is 2005 Market Street.
