Taking A Look At Grace Tavern

Philly.com visits G-Ho’s Grace Tavern and finds it lives up to its claim as a “a lovingly restored neighborhood tavern.”

I’m not sure which touch of hometown quirkiness I loved more: the 1960s Ballantine sign with Paleozoic Eagles (I could hear John Facenda’s voice in my head), or the funky little trap door next to the bar, from which a worker’s head periodically popped up, then quickly disappeared. It’s a blend of history, hipness and hominess.
