Dr. Hardy is an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in both Child & Adolescent Psychiatry as well as Adult Psychiatry in his outpatient practice at Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates. He offers both in-office psychiatric appointments in Philadelphia and virtual online visits throughout PA, NJ, and NY.

Dr. Hardy treats children, adolescents, and adults with Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, disorders comorbid with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depressive Disorders, and PTSD among others. He has a special interest in treating young children and parents of young children, and has completed additional training in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health where he gained expertise in the evaluation and treatment of peripartum mothers as well as preschool-aged youth. Dr. Hardy creates comprehensive treatment plans that may include medication management, specific psychotherapy recommendations, parenting strategies, and coordination with school (if applicable). Additionally, Dr. Hardy will coordinate services with your healthcare team, including therapists and primary care providers, to offer the highest quality care.

What's your background, education and training?

Dr. Hardy graduated from Cornell University with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Business. He earned his M.D. degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he was awarded the Dean’s Award for outstanding contributions to the college. After medical school, Dr. Hardy completed his general psychiatry residency at Northwestern Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian’s joint program affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University, serving as Chief Fellow in his final year. Dr. Hardy then completed an additional fellowship in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health at Weill Cornell Medicine.

His robust training included work in various inpatient units, consultations to medical wards, and emergency room psychiatry, as well as outpatient work treating children and adults with depression, anxiety and panic disorders, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, and PTSD. He has psychotherapy training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, dyadic therapy, CBT, DBT, parent management training, and play therapy. He has experience working with a diverse patient population, including patients of various cultural backgrounds, LGBTQ+ patients, and patients in various stages of gender-affirming treatment.

Monday through Thursday 9AM-8PM.
Friday 9-5PM.
Saturday 10-3PM.

Insurances Accepted

If you have out-of-network reimbursement with your insurance plan, we will be happy to supply invoices for services rendered and bills paid, so that patients may submit for partial reimbursement to their insurance companies. Call for information. Patients may also use HSA accounts for our services.
