Pele Coming to Philadelphia for Soccer Convention

Pele, the greatest soccer player of all time, will attend the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention in Center City.

The greatest soccer star of all time is coming to Philadelphia next month.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced Pele will attend the group’s annual convention in Philadelphia next month.

The NSCAA says Pele will be at several events at the convention, the world’s largest annual gathering of soccer coaches. He’ll also be shilling for G-Form, a Providence-based sports gear company that recently started selling shin guards.

“I want to thank the NSCAA for again welcoming me back to its esteemed event. It has been a while since I was last able to attend,” Pelé said in a release. “I’m excited to see how the event has grown, as well as represent G-Form and educate everyone about this great technology.”

Pele was recently discharged from the hospital after being admitted on November 24th. He went through kidney dialysis for several days while hospitalized. Almost unanimously considered to be the greatest soccer player of all time, Pele scored 1,283 goals in all competitions in his career. He won three World Cups while on the Brazilian national team.

The 2015 NSCAA convention will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from January 14th to the 18th. Registration is open now.
