11 Arrested at Downtown McDonald’s Protest
The protesters blocked the intersection at Broad and Arch with a sit-down protest. They were calling on McDonald's to raise its minimum wage to $15 an hour.
Demanding a $15-an-hour minimum wage for the workers at the fast food restaurant, protesters blocked traffic outside the McDonald’s at Broad and Arch in Center City on Thursday. Eleven were arrested.
About 100 protesters marched down Broad at noon, as part of a coordinated McDonald’s protest across the country.

The sit-down strikers ended up blocking the intersection in front of the McDonald’s near City Hall, and 11 were arrested when they ignored police orders to disperse.
