Penn Police Increasing Patrols After Uptick in Bike Thefts

Bike thefts and Penn, together as usual.

No matter the time of year, there are lots of bike thefts at Penn. They always seem to be on the uptick!

As such, Penn Police is stepping up patrols after an uptick in theft notices, per a message sent to the University community. The change is incredibly simple: Cops will be around bike racks more often. Be warned, thieves.

Penn’s bike theft prevention initiative mentions several steps to stop bike theft: Use a U-Lock (which you should thread through your frame and tire — and take off one tire if possible) and to avoid chaining your bicycle to anything that’s easily defeated. Simple stuff.
