Philadelphia Police Officer’s Killer Takes Plea Deal, Won’t Get Life

Philly police officer Moses Walker was killed while waiting at a bus stop after his shift.

A 21-year-old North Philadelphia man pleaded guilty today to the murder of Philadelphia police officer Moses Walker in 2012. Walker was waiting for the bus after his shift when he was slain.

Chancier McFarland admitted to third-degree murder and two hold-ups of grocery stores and will testify against his co-defendant in the murder trial, Rafael Jones. That will be a death penalty case.

McFarland will be sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison. The DA says McFarland copped to the shooting on two occasions.
