Fortune recently released its highly anticipated 100 Best Companies to Work For list, and three Philadelphia companies made the cut for their employee-approved workplaces.

The 2019 ranking takes a number of factors into consideration, including the company diversity, benefits, leadership, and atmosphere, all based on employee feedback. Organizations in a variety of industries from health care to retail and media are represented. The three companies representing Philly this year are three local giants — SAP America, Comcast and Power Home Remodeling. Here’s where they rank this year:

SAP America

Coming in at No. 28 is Newtown Square tech giant SAP. In the company’s Great Place To Work employee reviews, SAP’s culture is described as one with an abundance of opportunity and balance. And company management is transparent.

SAP currently employs about 19,411 nationwide, and the perks for workers abound. Part-timers who work a minimum of 24 hours a week can qualify for full-time benefits. Recent college graduates can enroll in the company’s paid “Internship Experience Project,” that serves as a major hiring pipeline for the company. With a history of leading the way on pay transparency and equal pay, it’s no surprise that this is SAP’s third year on the list.

Comcast NBCUniversal

Firmly standing at No. 71 is Philly telecommunications giant Comcast. Comcast debuted on the list last year at No. 68. With 184,000 employees, Comcast doesn’t fall short on perks. The company offers benefit packages that include “supplemental pay, paid military leave, and concierge services,” according to the ranking. Employees described the company’s atmosphere as familial and collaborative. Others described the company as especially hospitable and welcoming to new employees learning the ropes.

One goal Comcast has been working toward since 2017 is hiring more than 10,000 veterans. Comcast ranked third on Fortune’s accompanying list of Best Big Companies to Work For, behind Publix Super Markets and Marriott International.

Power Home Remodeling

Rolling in at No. 77, Power Home Remodeling is no newcomer to “best company culture” recognitions. Located in Chester, Power makes its third appearance on the Fortune list for some impressive reasons. Employees who refer female candidates for open positions can earn $2,000-$3,000 if that candidate gets hired. The benefit is part of Power’s new mission to hire more women. Overall, the firm seeks positive thinkers who can effectively contribute to its family culture.

A construction company, Power interestingly promotes the idea that it “prefers brains over brawns,” though to have both doesn’t hurt, the company says. Additional benefits include a yearly companywide trip to Mexico. Employees can bring a plus one. Other reviews cite Power’s management competence, facilities and resources as other elements that make the company a favorable place to work.
