Do Not Do These 5 Things When Shopping For Your Wedding Gown

Earlier this summer, we filled you in on TLC’s newest wedding show, I Found the Gown, which documents the goings-on at VOWS, a designer bridal outlet in Boston. I have not personally caught an episode yet, but judging by how I get sucked into the vortex of the network’s other wedding-related shows, I think it’s safe to say I’d probably watch more than one episode in a sitting.

Plus, judging by this HuffPo piece, I think I’d like Leslie DeAngelo, one of the co-owners of the salon. It’s her five tips of things not to do when embarking on the Search For the Dress, and I’m on board with all of them. (In short: The shopping entourages I’ve seen on TLC’s other shows are overwhelming even for me, sitting on my couch; you really don’t know what will look fab on you until it’s on you; no underwear? That’s a thing brides do? Dear God; seriously, assume she really knows what she’s doing—it’ll be pretty easy to figure out if she doesn’t; and, honestly, I don’t get this—your dress-shopping appointment is not a lunchtime mani.)

Or, perhaps more in short: Preach.

What do you think of her tips? Disagree with any, or wish you would have heard any before your first shopping trip?
