Bride Leslie: Wedding Recap

It’s official! I am a married lady! We got back from my honeymoon in Greece and Turkey a week ago, and looking back at all the pictures of the wedding, it just all feels like a blur. I can’t believe our Big Day has come and gone and I am no longer a bride. It feels unreal.

The wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. The weatherman called for rain 10 days prior but May 21, 2011 ended up being a sunny, cloudless day. It was like a dream.

I thought I would have been more emotional the entire day, but really I only fought off tears when I was getting ready with my mom, my mother-in-law-to-be and my bridesmaids. I had to have my make-up touched up a few times because every thought and feeling and emotion as to what this day would actually be like was washing over me all at the same time. It was overwhelming, but I managed to pull it together before the big walk down the aisle. I was all smiles for that!

The reception was just as incredible as the ceremony. We had our celebration at Greystone Hall in West Chester, and the setting was something out of a storybook — our guests seemed to really enjoy the location. Charles and I snuck off for a few quiet moments together to take the entire day in — we couldn’t believe this was our wedding, that we were really married now and that all these people had come to celebrate with us and for us!

Other highlights of the day included our photobooth by Shutterbooth Philadelphia, which was a massive hit! I am so happy we got this! Every guest got a print out of their pictures, but there was also a second copy made for each one that got put into a scrapbook for Charles and I, which all the guests signed with little love notes. I look at it almost everyday and laugh.

Another wedding day favorite was our band — the Sunday James Band — they kept everyone on the dance floor having an amazing time all night long. I couldn’t have asked for a better band! They were a big hit and I highly recommend them!

Aside from that, I actually have a really hard time recapping my wedding — it was everything I dreamed about and more, and I am so lucky it turned out the way it did. What I will tell you is that every time I think about our wedding, it brings a smile to my face and warm feelings to my heart, and that is what I wish for every bride-to-be out there for their special day!
