The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2016 NFL schedule continues this week as the team is set to play the Seattle Seahawks (6-2-1) on Sunday. The Eagles (5-4) are looking for their second road win of the season.

Winning away games has clearly been a challenge for the Eagles. Philadelphia has been in a bunch of close contests but they haven’t been able to close them out.

The Eagles face their toughest challenge of the season while facing off against Seattle. The Seahawks are playing well and CenturyLink Field is bound to be an incredibly hostile environment. There’s a reason the Eagles practiced indoors with simulated crowd noise in preparation for this game. Seattle is 35-5 in their last 40 home tilts.

It’s hard to imagine the Eagles’ offense will have much success against Seattle’s defense. Philadelphia lacks adequate skill player to begin with and their two best offensive options are dealing with injuries heading into this game. Jordan Matthew and Zach Ertz expect to play despite being listed questionable on the final injury report.

This week’s game will be a big test for Carson Wentz. It’ll be interesting to see how the rookie quarterback fares against a tough defense in such a loud stadium. The Eagles need their young signal caller to make the most of the limited opportunities he’ll have against Seattle’s defense.

Though Seattle’s defense might get all the hype, the Eagles’ defense isn’t too shabby, either. It actually ranks better than the Seahawks’ defense in certain categories. Sunday’s game could end up being a “battle of the defenses,” as rookie cornerback Jalen Mills coined it.

With that said, defending Russell Wilson figures to be a challenge. Wilson’s mobility has been limited this season as he’s dealt with an ankle injury but the Super Bowl winning quarterback is getting healthy. Even if he can’t run around, he’s more than capable of beating defenses with his arm.

This week’s game isn’t a must-win affair for the Eagles. They’ll still be alive in the NFC playoff picture even if they lose. But getting a win in a big spot like this would make life easier on Philadelphia.
