Eagles-Browns Inactives: Trey Burton Out
The following Eagles are inactive for their first game of the regular season against the Browns: Josh Andrews, Terrence Brooks, Trey Burton, Dillon Gordon, Isaac Seumalo, Bryce Treggs and Halapoulivaati Vaitai.
Burton (calf) and Treggs (knee) are the only Eagles out due to injury. While Burton was a late add to the injury report — he was limited on Friday, but fully participated every other day — Treggs (knee) didn’t practice at all last week. Najee Goode, whom the Eagles recently brought back to the 53-man roster, is active and will likely play a big role on special teams in place of Burton.
Carson Wentz, as expected, will be the first Eagles rookie quarterback to start a season opener since Davey O’Brien in 1939, and the first to play in the opening game since Randall Cunningham in 1985. Vinny Curry (knee), who was limited Wednesday and Thursday, will be available.
As for the Browns, quarterback Cody Kessler, cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun, cornerback Marcus Burley, inside linebacker Scooby Wright III, right tackle Shon Coleman, wide receiver Jordan Payton and defensive end Tyrone Holmes are inactive.
