In this installment of Opposition Research, we spoke with Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald about what the Eagles should expect Sunday against the Dolphins.

What are Miami’s strengths and weaknesses?

“Weaknesses? Where to start? Offensive line, linebackers and, without Cam Wake, the pass rush are good places to start. Their strength is running the ball. They just don’t do it enough. They rank second in the league in average with 4.9 yards per carry, but 31st in attempts with just 21 per game.”

How has the team changed since Dan Campbell took over?

“Depends on which version of Campbell’s Dolphins you believe is the real one. If it’s the group that outscored opponents 79-10 in Campbell’s first six quarters, then completely. If it’s the one that’s been outscored 95-27 in the 10 since, not at all. My guess is they’re somewhere in the middle.”

What injuries are the Dolphins battling that could impact the game?

“The right side of the offensive line is creaking. Ja’Wuan James, the starting right tackle, won’t play. We’ll have to see about Billy Turner, who’s been bothered this week by a knee injury. As I mentioned earlier, Wake is out for the season after tearing his Achilles.”

What matchup do you think could decide the game?

“The Eagles’ run game vs. the Dolphins’ run defense. Miami allowed not one, but two Bills running backs to crack 100 yards a week ago. DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews might have themselves a day.”

Who do you think will win and why?

“The Eagles. The Dolphins have been outscored 139-113 in games away from Sun Life Stadium this year, and Ryan Tannehill is a far inferior quarterback on the road than at home.”
