Sweat: Ploome’s Dance Dance Revolution Tournament

The NoLibs studio is throwing a DDR party to kick off 2012.

Sure, Dance Dance Revolution—the arcade game that pits players head-to-head in a dance-inspired (and sweat-inducing) competition—has been around for years, but that’s entirely the point. The upcoming DDR tournament at Ploome in Northern Liberties is a bit of a throwback, a way for you to sweat (in costume, natch) and celebrate the new year Ploome-style.

The fun kicks off at 11:30 a.m. on January 15th with registration and mocktails. Then, at noon, you can do the studio’s 45-minute Bottoms Up Booty class, before getting down with DDR at 1. The event costs $15, and a portion of the proceeds goes to the studio’s sister organization, REQ 1, a community outreach program that supports victims of gender-based violence. $15, January 15th, 11:30 a.m to 3 p.m.; 1040 N. American St., Suite 1001, 215-238-0200
