The $23 million it took to build the shiny new Haverford Y certainly wasn’t wasted: You can see it in the springy indoor track; the palatial, sun-filled cardio room; the water-slide-studded pool facility; free child-care services; and a group fitness roster that boasts more than 100 classes a week. The gym’s members—now numbered at more than 21,000 after less than a year—certainly aren’t complaining.
