Where: 1500 Federal Street, Point Breeze

What: With tons of fresh fruit prepped and ready to be thrown into the blender, this South Philly smoothie spot knows how to serve a healthy and delicious blended beverage. Create a custom order, or opt for a smoothie on their menu. Ashley Law, of Namaste Nourish, likes the Peachie Keen.

Sip-N-Glo Juicery

Where: Multiple locations

What: Aside from a killer selection of cold-pressed juices, this local chain offers a killer selection of made-to-order smoothies. For their take on the green smoothie, opt for the Tropikale, which blends kale, green apple, coconut water, coconut manna, pineapple, and banana. Or, for a energy boost, go with Buzzed, which is a delicious combination of coffee, almond butter, honey, cacao, banana, and almond milk.

Animo Juice and Burrito Bar

Where: 1701 Arch Street, Logan Square; 210 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield

What: Aside from juice and burritos, which certainly make our tongues and bellies happy, Animo is a great spot to swing by for a filling and nutritious smoothie blend. Get something dessert-like, such as the Salted Chocolate Hemp, or something more protein-focused, like the Power Protein Blend with fruit and chia seeds.

Where: 1706 Locust Street, Rittenhouse

What: You can rest assured that a smoothie from this spot is totally organic, vegan, and gluten-free. Their smoothie menu includes superfoods, such as açaí and dragonfruit as well as protein-packed options.

Bimini Juice and Salad Bar

Where: 807 North 2nd Street, Northern Liberties

What: Their ice and non-fat Greek yogurt-based smoothies are a hit. Create your own, or pick from their extensive smoothie menu, which also lists the calorie count — if that’s something you keep track of.

Bryn & Dane’s

Where: Bryn Mawr, Plymouth Meeting, Horsham, Ambler, and Malvern.

What: A large menu of custom smoothie, including variations like “Southern Rain” (peaches and strawberries) and “Pee, Bee & Jay” (strawberries, blueberries, and peanut butter), plus an option to create your own.

Front Street Cafe

Where: 1253 Front Street, Fishtown

What: Because nearly everything Front Street Cafe does is utterly delicious, it’s no surprise their smoothie game is strong as well. For an additional charge, you can choose to add vegan protein powder to any of their smoothies, which include an on-trend Golden Glow featuring pineapple, turmeric, orange, coconut, and banana. Or, if you’re feeling green, opt for their Super Greens smoothie.

Boostin’ Bowls

Where: 100 Levering Street, Manayunk

What: Because dreams really can come true, this açaí-focused shop turned their top menu item — the açaí bowl — into a smoothie. Not only is this easier to enjoy on the go, it’s a dollar cheaper than the bowl version. Other selections include the Hangover Cure, which includes coconut water for extra hydration, or the Avocado Vanilla Bean, which blends avocado with almond milk, banana, chia seeds, and vanilla.

Manakeesh Cafe Bakery and Grill

Where: 4420 Walnut Street, University City

What: While it may seem like this is a take out and delivery spot solely dedicated to delicious Mediterranean cuisine, they also boast a smoothie menu that is healthy, delicious, and won’t break the bank. Not exceeding seven dollars, their smoothies are filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, and you can choose an almond or soy base.

Milk and Honey Market

Where: 4435 Baltimore Avenue, West Philly

What: Another smoothie spot that won’t break the bank is Milk and Honey, where the smoothies range from $4 to $5. Their green smoothie, referred to as “Joshua’s Green Dream” featuring orange juice, arugula, pineapple, and banana comes highly recommended.

Where: 46 South 17th Street, Rittenhouse

What: Sure, they make one of our favorite açaí bowls, but their smoothies aren’t anything to shrug at either. Choose from their popular açaí or pitya flavors or opt for a berry-filled or green smoothie.

The Juice Merchant

Where: Multiple locations in University City, Manayunk and Narberth

What: Offering many traditional smoothie options like a green smoothie, coffee smoothie or blue majik, one smoothie of interest is the Oat Berry Berry — which is basically an oatmeal smoothie, blending oats, berries, banana, almond milk and orange juice into a fiber-rich smoothie that’s perfect for breakfast.

Kamal’s Middle Eastern Specialities

Where: Reading Terminal Market; 51 North 12th Street, Market East

What: ICYMI, this spot was called out by local nutritionists as one of the healthy places to eat in Reading Terminal Market for their awesome veggie-filled platter and juice bar, but their smoothies are on point as well. First of all it’s worth noting that their small is more like a medium, so if you pick wisely from their fruit, veggie, and add-on options, you can put together a very filling smoothie. The Four Seasons Juice Bar, located just down the aisle in the market, is another prime option for smoothie drinkin’ at Reading Terminal.

Where: Multiple locations in Midtown Village, University City and South Philly

What: Another spot that helps you out by labeling calories, FUEL has dairy and non-dairy milk options as well as plenty of add-ons including protein, energy boosts, and Creatine.
