Ranging from yoga with pigs to barre with brunch to boot camps on a playground, July has many opportunities for you to get your sweat on in Philly.


ROOTS2RISE YOGA ON THE MANAYUNK BRIDGE Roots2Rise wants you to join them for some yoga on the Manayunk Bridge. This 60-minute yoga sesh is offered every Sunday morning. There is a suggested donation of $5 for the class — and this donation goes to support Roots2Rise classes in Philadelphia Parks & Rec. Find more info here. $5 suggested donation, 10 a.m.


FREE CENTER CITY FIT: YOGA Join Optimal Sport 1315 instructors for free yoga classes at Dilworth Park! These hour-long classes are held every Monday evening. All you need to do is bring your own mat! Click here to view it on the calendar. Free, 6 p.m.


FREE CENTER CITY FIT: BOOT CAMP Same place, different day! Try out Center City Fit’s Boot Camp at Dilworth Park every Tuesday evening. Top-notch trainers from Optimal Sport Health Club will use a high-intensity approach to get you moving. Click here to view the calendar. Free, 6 p.m.

FREE YOGA & JUSTICE AT EASTERN STATE Eastern State is hosting events as art of their Searchlight Series, all of which address issues in contemporary corrections. This particular event is led by yoga teacher Colleen Devirgiliis, Brianne Murphy from Transformation Yoga Project, and social justice activist Kempis Songster. The event includes a yoga class on the prison’s baseball diamond and a reception following the yoga portion. Chair and mats will be provided, and no reservations are necessary. FREEDOM & FEELS YOGA SCULPT You have two chances to sweat it out, Independence Day-style, at The Wall Fitness in Manayunk. First, at 8:15 a.m., there’s a USA-themed yoga sculpt class (you’ll need a mat and grippy socks to participate). Then, at 9:30 a.m., there’s a SPINdependence Day indoor cycling class. FREE YOGA AND BEER WITH ROOTS2RISE AND PARKS ON TAP Head over to the beautiful Shofuso Japanese House & Garden Fairmount Park for a class that supports Roots2Rise. Instructed by Mariel Freeman, the owner of Three Queens Yoga, this class takes place at the Japanese Shofuso Garden and has a suggested donation of $10. Donators get a free post-yoga drink at the Parks on Tap beer garden! Sign up in advance here, or show up and donate there. Free, 6 p.m.


PURE BARRE ON THE BEACH hereArdmore’s Pure Barre is going coastal with this beach barre class. Bring your water bottle, towel, and yoga mat for this toning workout out on North Beach in front of Deauville Inn in Strathmere, New Jersey. These classes are scheduled for every Saturday morning in July. Walk-ups welcome, or pre-register . $10, 8:45 a.m.


COREFITNESS JULY SHRED Get ready to get sweaty: CoreFitness is hosting a July Shred Series from July 9 through July 20. That means meeting up at 6 a.m. five days a week, Monday through Friday, at the Art Museum steps. From there, the coaches will determine where to take the class for a 50-minute, full-body, cardio and strength-building class. Full rate is $179. Register here.


FREE BE WELL PHILLY SUMMER YOGA FLOW Join Be Well Philly for our Summer Yoga Flow Series, led by Three Queens Yoga to the beat of a live deejay. The 60-minute flow will be followed by drinks from Michelob Ultra, Belvedere, and Steaz, and the series will be occur on Tuesday evenings throughout the month (July 10, 17, 24, and 31). FREE OUTDOOR BARRE CLASSES Want to try barre but never got around to it? The Bar Method is hosting free classes on Tuesday nights this month. You’ll just need to bring your own mat (and water!). To participate, sign up ahead of time here, then arrive at 5 p.m. for a check-in before the 45-minute class at The Plaza at the Comcast Center. Free, 5:30 p.m.


GNO: VIXEN WORKOUT SLAY & SIP VixenArmyTasha is hosting the Vixen Workout on The Deck Philly at the Moshulu. The Vixen Workout is a cardio dance fitness class that has easy choreography, great music, and disco lighting. After the 60-minute class, enjoy Ladies Night at the Deck and reward your workout efforts with food and drink specials (starting at $5). SUMMER LOVIN’ DAYBREAKER Join Daybreaker at Stratus Lounge Philly for an early-morning fitness party. The day starts with 60 minutes of yoga, followed by a two-hour dance party full of surprises. Included are free breakfast foods, cold brew coffee, and healthy juice drinks. There may be other fun surprises as well — Daybreaker will be releasing more details on the event page. BABY GOAT YOGA Yoga Hive Philly is hosting a Baby Goat Yoga class as part of their grand opening celebration at East Passyunk Community Center Park. Gina Durante and Heather Bonato, owners of Yoga Hive, will be running the class. Yoga mats will be provided if you do not bring your own — and, oh, baby goats will be provided, too! After the class, there will be complimentary cocktails and food at the new Yoga Hive studio (1914 E Passyunk Avenue). Baby goats and free food—who wouldn’t sign up? YOGA WITH PIGS Tuck Barre and Yoga and Fairytail Acres are hosting — yes, you are reading this correctly — yoga with pigs. Just don’t plan on doing a lot of yoga — there will be a lot of pig playtime involved instead. Donations from this event will go to support Fairytale Acres’ ‘The Rescue,’ their mission to rescue pigs from abuse and abandonment and provide them with proper care. Find tickets here. BARRE & BUBBLES Y2B Fit is celebrating its second birthday in style — with a 45-minute barre class followed by food and bubbly! Two classes will be offered at this event — one at 11 a.m. and one at 12 p.m. All proceeds from the class will go to support Project Sweet Peas, a non-profit that provides support to families of premature or sick infants, as well as those affected by pregnancy and infant loss. PHILLYCORE: ART MUSEUM BOOT CAMP Nothing like a classic Art Museum workout! CoreFitness is hosting an Art Museum Boot Camp, led by Lauren Rosenfield, with a challenging lineup: 20 minutes of dynamic stair climbing, 20 minutes of core strengthening, and a ten-minute athletic stretch. Bring your own yoga mat, and register here. $20, 9 a.m.

BARRE & BRUNCH Now this is an alliteration we can get behind. Focus Barre and Yoga is holding a barre class followed by a discounted brunch! The hour-long class will take place at The Deck Philly, and it includes a free mimosa and 15 percent off The Deck’s brunch menu. FIT TO GLAM: STEPPING WORKOUT CLASS Fit to Glam presents StepLight Classes by Kahree. This high-energy fitness program involves step boards and fun, cardio-filled exercises for physical conditioning. The class will be held on the The Deck Philly, and you can find tickets here. $10, 6:30 p.m.

SUP ACRO YOGA Up for a real challenge? Try floating yoga — acro-style. This stand-p paddle boarding acro yoga class will be led by Rob Li and Aqua Vida’s Jana Mars at the Penn’s Landing Marina. Wear a bathing suit and bring a towel—you’ll probably fall in the water at least once! Reserve your board here. $20, 6 p.m.


FREE SWAG (SWEAT WITH A GROUP) FUEL Cycle Fitness and Lululemon in Ardmore are teaming up for this summer sweat session in Suburban Square. The 60-minute boxing class will be set to a live deejay — with post-class snacks to refuel afterwards. Bring your yoga mat. Free, 6:30 p.m.


FREE FLOW BY LUMOS YOGA & BARRE Head to Rittenhouse’s Athleta for an all-levels athletic vinyasa class. This class will allow you to build strength, as well as work on moving with your breath. Bring your mat, and register here. Free, 9 a.m.

PUPPY YOGA A yoga sesh that lets you snuggle with puppies while benefitting Morris Animal Refuge? Sign us up. These two sessions of puppy yoga will be hosted by Fishtown’s Amrita Yoga & Wellness, and all of the proceeds will go to benefit Morris. Register here. $25, 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.


FREE X-PHYSIQUE FITNESS CLASS Also held at the RittenhouseAthleta, X-Physique Fitness Class is all about improving strength while giving you the skills to avoid injury during this “ballet boot camp.” Plan to work your core, back, and to focus on stability. SUNSET CHAKRA YOGA What’s not to love about rooftop yoga? KG Strong and Bok Bar are teaming up to host this class series led by Philly yoga teachers, including Ashley Rufo, Dave Hem, Daniel Cordua, Adriana Adele, Katie Gould, and more! The class will take place at Bok Bar, and a third of the proceeds benefit South Philly non-profits. Bring a mat and keep in mind that the bar is open after the class to all attendees. BOXING + BEATS + BOATS AT THE DECK AT MOSHULU FUEL Cycle Fitness is bringing their upbeat boxing workout to the water at The Deck Philly. First you’ll workout to a live deejay, then indulge in some sips from the bar. Find tickets here. $20, 6:30 p.m.

FREE CKO KICKBOXING CLASS Try out kickboxing with two classes on July 25. The hour-long outdoor kickboxing classes will take place at The Oval, and there’s no need to register — just show up! Free, 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.


PLAYGROUND BOOT CAMP Get back to your childhood roots with this weekly class, led by Gina Mancuso, which will run on every Friday until August 31. During the sweat sesh, you’ll climb, jump, swing, run, and slide as a workout — how fun does that sound? This 50-minute boot camp meets at the playground at 22nd and Brown streets in Fairmount. “BROGA” HOSTED BY YOGA HIVE Gather your bros and sign up for some broga — a.k.a. a yoga class specifically designed for men. Yoga Hive‘s Sarah Wingert will lead the class focused on building muscle, improving flexibility, and calming their minds. FREE DANCE DAY 2018 Philadelphia Dance Day 2018! There will be over 25 free daytime workshops, and a $10 evening gala and performance showcase. FREE WEST PHILLY WORKOUT SERIES This event by Philadelphia Runner will start at Philadelphia Runner University City and begin with a short run to a West Philly location (near the start location), where a local trainer will lead a 30 to 45-minute workout.
