Strawberry season is HERE, folks! While grocery store aisles are lined with boxes of the delicious red berries, don’t you think it would be much more satisfying if you picked them yourself? Trust us, it is.

Now that it’s officially peak strawberry season — estimated to be between June 1 and June 10 — we’ve got your go-to guide to 11 local farms around Philadelphia and South Jersey where you can gather your own basket of strawberries. Now, who’s ready for some jams, pies, and other fruit-filled noms?

PICK YOUR OWN STRAWBERRIES: MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Maple Acres Farm and Market
What: Strawberries, other PYO produce and flowers, market goods, monthly farm tours, and pony rides.

Hellerick’s Family Farm
What: Strawberries, family fun festivals, market, field trips.
When: PYO from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, from the start of strawberry season through June 17 (ish); strawberry-picking times can vary due to weather, so they recommend you check their Facebook page for updates on opening and closing times as well as berry availability.
