Bike to Work Day: Bike to Work on Friday, Get Free Coffee, Snacks and Flowers

This Friday is Bike to Work Day — and you've got plenty of incentive to peddle your way into the office.

This Friday, May 19th, is National Bike to Work Day. And besides simply getting in on the cause for the environment and your health, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is giving you many more reasons to peddle into the office on Friday. For the city’s 22nd Annual Bike to Work Day, the Bicycle Coalition’s got a whole lineup of events and goodies to fuel your commute — and you’re going to want in.

The Bicycle Coalition’s Bike to Work Day perks start with their “Energizer Stations.” Stations will be located at the Penn Museum at 33rd and South Street, the Last Drop Coffee House at 13th and Pine, and along the Schuylkill River Trail next to Paine’s Park. At these stations, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., you’ll be able to grab a cup of coffee provided by the Last Drop and La Colombe and grab snacks courtesy of Snap Kitchen (yes, please!). Zipcar will also be distributing free bike lights. If you need a little something to spruce up your office space, the folks from Urban Stems will have a free build-your-own-bouquet setup at the Penn Museum Energizer Station.

And let’s not forget about your reward after a long day of work. To kick off the weekend, you can pedal over to a special Bike to Work Day happy hour at Yards Brewing Company (901 North Delaware Avenue) at 5 p.m. for discounted post-work brews.

To get in on all the fun, just make sure to pledge to bike to work this Friday here.
