How to Work Out for Free Around Philly for the Next Two Months

The holiday season has arrived and, for me, that means whenever I consider purchasing anything, from an almond milk latte to a yoga class, said purchase gets put through the “Should I buy this for myself OR should I save this money and put it toward that thing my boyfriend/best friend/mom really wants?” thought process. Cue coffee brewed at home and YouTube workouts.

But thanks to the folks at Freehouse Fitness, a studio slated to open somewhere in Center City this coming year (location TBD), we can all quit skimping on our workouts in the name of generosity: For the months of December and January, the studio is offering free classes around town. Lots of them.

Starting today, Freehouse will be holding classes at three locations each week: Athleta, Major Moment Studio and Headlong Studio. They’ll be featuring two different classes: Slow Sculpt, which incorporates weights and a ball, and High Flyer, a class done with resistance bands and a rebounder (read: mini trampoline!). They’ll have four free classes throughout the week in December and, come January, that will bump up to five. The schedule looks like this:

Tuesdays
6:30 a.m. at Major Moment Studio, 1624 South Street, Grad Hospital
December: Slow Sculpt Intro
January: High Flyer Intro

Wednesdays
8 p.m at Athleta, 1722 Walnut Street, Rittenhouse
December and January: Slow Sculpt Intro

Thursdays
6 p.m. at Headlong Studio, 1170 South Broad Street, South Philly
December: High Flyer Intro
January: Slow Sculpt

Saturdays
9 a.m. at Headlong Studio, 1170 South Broad Street, South Philly
January: High Flyer Intro

Sundays
9 a.m. at Athleta, 1722 Walnut Street, Rittenhouse
December and January: High Flyer Intro

You can sign up for the classes here. Happy (free!) sweating!
