Well, here’s something you don’t see every day: A Philly cyclist posted a Craiglist ad earlier this week, saying he had a stranger’s bike in his possession and he’s looking to return it. Nice, right?

Apparently, the bike in question had been locked to the ad poster’s bike, and rather than leaving the bike unlocked and a target for theft in Center City, he took it home with him. Now he’s searching for the owner.

Here’s the full text of the ad:

BIKE STOLEN? NOPE, YOU LOCKED IT TO MY BIKE (Center City)

Monday night around 10-11pm, you locked your bike to my bike lock. I have both bikes now. The alternative was to leave your unlocked bike on the ground.

Contact me to get your bike back!

This was on the (sorta) corner of 15th and Walnut in Center City. The area with Max Brenner and Applebees. Reply with a description of your bike and we can meet up.

I reached out to the Craiglister last night — turns out, his name is Luke — and as of 9 p.m. he still hadn’t located the bike’s rightful owner. If it’s yours, you can reach Luke through the Craigslist ad here.
