Organizers of The Color Run announced today preliminary details about Philly’s fourth annual color-soaked 5K. This year marks big changes to both the race date and location.

For the first time, the Philadelphia event will take place outside of city limits, just over the bridge on the Camden Waterfront (exact course not yet available). In 2012, The Color Run debuted at the Art Museum; in 2013, it was held at the Please Touch Museum; and last year, Color Runners descended on the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. In all three previous years, The Color Run was also held in mid-July. This year, the run date is set for April 25th.

In an effort to bring something new to the table—in the face, of course, of lots of other color-powder fun runs that have cropped up on the scene—this year’s Color Run series is also being branded as the Shine Tour, described as the “next generation of The Color Run.” Based on the promo video below, I can only guess that glitter and confetti will somehow be involved, though other surprises are also promised.
