On November 16th, get your sweat on at Step Up for the Special Olympics’ annual Stair Climb Challenge, a chip-timed race up 53 flights of stairs in the BNY Mellon Center on Market Street. I can feel my quads burning already.

Folks can choose to participate in the timed stair climb, or tackle the stairs at their own pace in the Fun Climb Challenge. And if running up 53 flights of stairs sounds like a piece of cake to you (anyone?), you can also opt for the tougher CrossClimb Challenge: You’ll complete a CrossFit W.O.D. before making your way up to the top of the building.

Registration is $53 (a buck for each flight, get it?), and proceeds go to Special Olympics Philadelphia. So, around flight 38, when your legs feel like they might fall off and tumble down to the bottom of the staircase, just remember: It’s for a good cause. You can sign up here.
