#BWPSelfie of the Week: Why This Running Mom Takes Her Daughter Along for the Ride

Welcome to the #BWPSelfie of the Week Read about why we’re celebrating selfies—and the sweaty Philadelphians who take them—below.

Name: Kristy Campbell

Day job: Running coach and owner of Run the Long Road Coaching

Where she snapped this: Schuylkill River Trail

What she was doing: Enjoying the cool temps on an eight-mile training run for a 50K in October—with six-month-old Fiona in tow.

Longest run with a stroller, ever: 10 miles. As Fiona, gets older, I foresee some longer runs in our future!

Her favorite place to run with a kid in tow: When I’m pushing 40+ pounds, definitely the Schuylkill River Trail. It’s flat, smooth and easily accessible.

Why she takes her daughter along for the ride: She’s curious (some would say nosy) and enjoys people watching along the trail. And I’m forced to run faster if she starts getting fussy!

How she stays motivated to sweat: Sign up for races. I’m always training for something and usually have a goal in mind, so that makes it hard to skip a run. And the guilt would eat away at me. Also, as a running coach I can’t slack off on the job!

Editor’s note: The #BWPSelfie of the Week is our way to give a virtual high-five to Be Wellers who are sweating up a storm, making deliciously healthy meals, trying new adventures, and having all kinds of fun in and around Philly.
