Registration for Totally Awesome 80s Run Now Open
Huzzah! Here’s a way to put your leg warmers and fanny packs to good use, finally: the Totally Awesome 80s Run, which just opened registration for the September 14th race. The 80s-themed (duh) 5K, now in its third year, will take place just over the bridge in Deptford, New Jersey, with a chip-timed course on area roads and an after party at Adelphia Restaurant.
The $40 fee gets you a race bib and entry to the party, where there will be a buffet-style lunch, free beer (one per runner) and dance-tastic 80s music, spun by a DJ. Costumes are encouraged (Note: The year I did this race, someone dressed up as a Rubik’s Cube, for real.), and awards will be handed out for top finishers as well as best dressed. There will also be a running man competition, so start practicing.
Sign up is here.
