To Do Tonight: Yoga and Community Acupuncture at Nava Yoga Center

I love that yoga and acupuncture, together, are becoming a thing here. The two just seem to go so well together (both promote self care, good health, deep relaxation), I’m happy to see that local studios are finding ways to bring them together.

Starting tonight, the Navy Yard’s Nava Yoga Center will host monthly community acupuncture sessions with Owen McPeake, a practitioner from Flat Rock Health in Manayunk and the Vincera Institute. On the second Wednesday of the month, following the studio’s heated Slow Flow class from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., students can stick around (or you can drop in, even if you didn’t take the class) to lie in a comfortable, supported savasana while Owen works his magic. The goal is to help you replenish and restore your energy, something that’s vitally important as we move into a busy holiday season.

$25 for acupuncture (class fee is additional if you take the Slow Flow class), Every second Wednesday from 7:15 to 8 p.m., Nava Yoga Center, South 12th Street and Constitution Avenue, The Navy Yard, Philadelphia.
