Ask the Health Coach: What Are the Best Yoga DVDs?

Thinking of starting a home yoga practice? Maura offers her favorite yoga DVDs and online options so you can do downward-facing dog just about anywhere.

Hi Maura,

I am looking to strengthen and lose inches/weight and want to know of a great yoga DVD I could do at home.

~ Shannon

Hi Shannon!

Congrats on the initiative to start a home practice. Lucky for you, there are a lot of available terrific yoga DVDs and online options that can help you meet your fitness and weight goals. Here are my top picks!

1. Seane Corn Detox Flow
Internationally recognized yoga instructor Seane Corn brings her integrated approach to living a healthier, happier life through her detox process. Experience elevated energy, increased circulation, and weight loss—as well as a calmer, more stress-free mind. The set includes two yoga workouts: “Twist and Flow” (35 minutes) and “Purify” (65 minutes), plus a 10-minute bonus “Core Energy” download.

For $18 a month, you can stream over a thousand online yoga classes on your computer or HD TV whenever you want, in the comfort of your own home or on the go. Classes range from 30 to 90 minutes and feature some of the best teachers in the country. My choices? Kathryn Budig and Tiffany Cruikshank.

3. Comcast’s On-Demand workouts with Philly’s own John Vitarelli, co-owner Dhyana Yoga
Yup, check him out in the Fitness section and practice with one of Philly’s best in the comfort of your own home! He offers multiple options depending on skill level and legnth of time.

Enjoy your home practice,

P.S. Readers, I want to know what YOUR favorite yoga DVDs or online practices are. Share in the comments, please!
