Philadelphia Magazine’s Be Well Philly Office Challenge Presented by UnitedHealthcare Is Underway!
Monday, September 13th, marks the official start of Philadelphia magazine’s Be Well Philly Office Challenge Presented by UnitedHealthcare! Submissions came to us from all across the Delaware Valley, but we’ve whittled it down to four amazing teams—WMMR’s Preston & Steve show and Applied Clinical Intelligence in Bala Cynwyd, and Center City’s Thomas Jefferson University Family Center and Fox Rothschild. For the next eight weeks, these four teams will battle it out for the title of Philly’s Fittest Office. The team that drops the most collective pounds and scores the most Wellness Points (read the official rules here), will win bragging rights—and one amazing prize package.
Throughout the eight weeks, each team will have total access to all of Sweat Fitness’s eight locations so they can burn and tone to their heart’s content. We’ve also matched each office with their very own personal trainer from Sweat (Jim Pfromm, Holly Waters, Nikki McCrae, and Anthony Venezia), and they’ll also receive health and wellness tips from UHC’s Andrea Rowe and in-office yoga and nutrition seminars from Ryah Yoga and Health‘s Maura Manzo and Nicole Fugo.
Of course, we’ll be sharing all of the tips and tricks for dropping pounds at the office with YOU the entire time. Monday through Friday, we’ll be posting a Wellness Tip of the Day (read the first one here) so you can follow along right from your very own cubicle. Expect to see everything from workout videos you can try right at your desk to smart ways to deal with everything from the dreaded “free food” email co-workers love to send right before lunch to figuring out what to eat when your stomach starts rumbling around 3 o’clock.
We’ll also be posting lots of fun updates about how our teams are doing so you can cheer them on up or rile them up (a little friendly competition never hurt anyone!) and you can follow their tweets here.
So … anyone willing to wagger a starting bet? Will our winner be the rock-n-roll junk-food junkies at WMMR, the lawyers and secretaries at Fox Rothschild, the medical researchers at ACI, or our all-women team at Thomas Jefferson University Family Center?
Either way, it should be a good fight. Stay tuned!
