Top 10 Places to Ski Near Philly

Grab a friend (or two or three) and hit the slopes for a day of fun (and a killer workout, too!)

Heading to the mountains isn’t only a great way to take a break from a hectic workweek, but it’s also a great way to finally burn some serious calories. Depending on weight, the average individual burns roughly 365-545 calories per hour of downhill skiing (lift time and cocoa breaks don’t count). Which means a few hours on the weekend can help counteract all of that after-work couch time you’ve been clocking thanks to Philly’s frigid winter temps. And lucky you, there are 10 great resorts all within a 45-minute to 2-hour drive. Call ahead for all the updates on trail and snow conditions!
