Wedding Date: April 13, 2013 in Rockwood Carriage House
How They Met: We were matched on eHarmony and after a few weeks of emailing and talking on the phone, we met for our first date on October 20, 2010 at Triumph Brewery in Old City, Philadelphia.
The Proposal: It's moving day! After about 6 hours of loading and unloading, we found ourselves amongst a lot of boxes and pretty exhausted. We each retired to a couch and Jed asked me if I'd like to go out later. I didn't really want to all things considered but after taking a nap, decided it would be fun to get out for a little bit. The plan was to have dinner at Iron Hill then head over to Del Rose and meet up with a few friends for drinks. After getting ready, I went downstairs and said I was ready to go. Jed was sitting on the couch and said "Ok, hold on one second, I have something I want to show you in the kitchen." He led me to the kitchen where he had set up the table with a single rose, one of our favorite beers Saison D'erpe-Mere on ice, 2 empty glasses and his ipod player. He immediately pressed play and our song began filling the room. I was floored. He told me he had wanted to do something special for me since it was our first "official" night living together. So we sat down, poured ourselves some Derp and enjoyed the moment. It was such a thoughtful thing for him to do! After about 10 minutes I announced I was going to get my phone to take a picture of this sweet set up he had created. As I was walking back into the kitchen looking at my phone to take the picture I was not even looking at Jed. After taking the pic, I turned towards him and saw he was down on one knee.
It's kind of blurry at this point all that was said, but I do remember crying and hugging him and telling him it was the happiest day of my life. Truth is, every day since I have met Jed has been the happiest day of my life. I can't wait to share many, many, many more with him. :)
