How They Met: Bryan was an Apartment Assistant and I was an Orientation Leader at Arcadia University. We met at a dinner held in Grey Towers Castle during a summer orientation event to bring AAs and OLs together. From that evening on Bryan and I spent a lot of time together on campus going and traveling around Center City, Philadelphia. We built our friendship and relationship on laughter, trust, honesty, and love. Adventure Aquarium holds many memories such as, our first date, first dance and where Bryan asked me to be his girlfriend. Now, we will be married at the beautiful Currents Ballroom.
The Proposal: Bryan was about to begin working at his internship/clinical the Monday following my last day of school. We wanted to celebrate our three-year anniversary the weekend before he started clinical and he told me not to worry about planning anything because he wanted to plan the weekend. I was not suspicious about his intentions as Bryan is a romantic and often plans surprises (especially knowing that I love them). Little did I know, Bryan had already asked my parents permission for my hand in marriage.
On Friday, Bryan said it took me forever to get home from school (it was only a half day) and that as soon as I was ready (girls like to freshen up a bit) we could leave. When we got into the car and drove off Bryan told me that we needed to kill some time before we could check into our hotel. Still clueless, went to walk around Arcadia and take pictures at the castle where we shared so many special memories.
When we got out of the car Bryan talked about his love for me and how magical our relationship is. The next thing I knew, Bryan was down on one knee asking if I would marry him. Of course I yes! When we got back in the car we made many phone calls and texts to our friends and loved ones. Needless to say, there were many tears of happiness!
Bryan took me to the Sofitel Hotel where he pulled out my favorite champagne for a toast. Later, he said that we had to go wait outside for our ride to dinner, when a beautiful horse and carriage pulled up. Excited, I got in and Bryan explained to me that princesses ride carriages. At the end of our incredible tour of Philadelphia the carriage pulled up to the Melting Pot where Bryan had beautiful flowers waiting at our table. After a delicious dinner Bryan told me that we had Philadelphia City Passes for the weekend to enjoy all our favorite activities from the Philadelphia Zoo to the Adventure Aquarium. There was another surprise that Bryan had in store for me, a Phillies game! At the game, I was so excited because Stutes threw me a baseball! When we came home on Sunday night, my family and DJ had a delicious dinner waiting for us.
