Zach & Samantha

How They Met: I (Zach) picked up a second job about 4 years ago at a local restaurant, Barnaby's in Havertown. My fiance (Samantha), was already working there. We quickly developed a friendship that blossomed into a dating relationship.

The Proposal: On February 4, I made plans to take Samantha out to dinner at the Chart House in Philadelphia. I met with the manager there ahead of time and he allowed me to pick out the perfect table and we worked out a great plan together. I arranged a party bus to pick up both of our immediate families at Barnaby's (where we met) and drive them all down to the Chart House. I timed the dinner perfectly, so when the families arrived we were just finishing our dessert. The manager, Chris, discreetly notified me that the families have arrived and he ushered them to our table. They approached our table from behind and caught Samantha by surprise. I then stood up from the table, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry me in front of the entire restaurant. She, of course, said yes and we took the celebration down to the lounge! After an hour or two of drinks and pictures, we all got on the party bus. What Samantha didn't know, is I had my brother secretly pick up my car from the valet so we were able to get on the bus with everybody! We then took the celebration back to Barnaby's where I had arranged for friends and family to meet us there. Overall, it was a great night and we will never forget it!
