Wedding Date: October 12, 2012 in Philadelphia, PA

How They Met: We both attended LaSalle University from 2001 - 2005 and had the same circle of friends. It wasn't until after graduation that we really got to know each other well and realized we had a connection. In the spring of 2006, I (Casey) developed the courage to tell Joe how cute I thought he was; though the compliment was well received, Joe insisted he did not want a serious relationship. Throughout the summer and fall our friendship continued to grow and my feelings for Joe in a romantic sense developed. He still laid down the law but I told him, "I just want to let you know, you are going to fall in love with me." Famous last words - we've been together ever since!

The Proposal: We got engaged Saturday, July 30, in Wildwood, NJ. Every year our families gather to participate in the Sandblast Beach Run, followed by a huge barbecue in the backyard of his family's shore house. After the awards ceremony of the run, Joe told his family we would catch up with them at the barbecue, and told me one of his friends from work was in Wildwood with his family and wanted us to stop by. Joe insisted they were on the beach; mind you, it was 8 in the evening so I had my suspicions. We walked onto the 11th St. beach and, much to my surprise, Joe got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After I said yes, we headed back to the family barbecue, where we had quite the announcement to make to our families. They could not have been happier, and we had such a memorable evening celebrating with them that it may be difficult to top at the wedding!
